How do I check the tire pressure on Tesla models?

1. Select the car status display on the lower right part.
2. Swipe the display to the left.
3. It will show the four tire pressure valves.

However, you may not see the pressure first up all the time. It means you need to drive the car for a while to heat it. After a few minutes, you will see all four tires pressures on the Tesla screen.

But you can also follow the traditional way to check the tire pressure. Here are the steps.

1. Remove the cap from the air valve of the tire.
2. Connect the tire gauge to the valve gauge.
3. Read the tire pressure on the gauge.
4. Put necessary air inside the tire with an air hose.
5. Replace the valve cap.

How to ensure adequate pressure on the tire?

To ensure your Tesla model has adequate pressure on the tire, you should check it regularly. Although monthly checking is enough, experts recommend regular checking. Typically, the psi goes up when it’s hot outside.

The opposite thing happens when it’s cold outside. Therefore, you may need some extra pressure during winter and less pressure during a hot summery day.

Follow the steps to add extra pressure inside the tire when it’s cold outside.

1. Remove the valve caps from all four tires.
2. Connect the hose nozzle to the valve stem.
3. Press the inflation lever to start air flowing inside.
4. Release the lever when it’s done.
5. Check the tire pressure recommendation.
6. Repeat the process for the rest of the three wheels.

Now, it becomes necessary to release a bit of air from the tire on a summery day as the road has proper friction. To release air, follow the steps.

1. Remove the valve cap.
2. Connect the air pressure gauge.
3. Press the small dot on the back of the pressure gauge.
4. Air will gradually come out of the tire.
5. Check the tire pressure.
6. Do the same on the rest of the wheels.

Types of tires used on Tesla models

Basically, you will find three types of tires used on Tesla models depending on the weather conditions. These are –

1. Summer tires
2. Winter tires
3. All season tires.

Typically, most Tesla cars come with summer tires. These tires create adequate friction to ensure proper pressure. However, they aren’t a good option for snowy roads or winter conditions.
